Free Internet will appear on the planes of two major European airlines

Major European airlines Air France and SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) will start launching a high-speed Internet service from Starlink on their planes from 2025 on a free basis.

Free Internet access will be available to members of the Air France and SAS loyalty programs, in which you can register, including during the flight.

Starlink allows airlines to offer passengers high-speed Internet access. The speed will allow not only to load sites, exchange messages and photos, but also to watch video broadcasts.

Starlink will also provide Internet access both on the ground and in flight.

In addition to Air France and SAS, United Airlines, airBaltic, ZIPAIR and Qatar Airways have already announced their intention to install Starlink on their airliners.

American Hawaiian Airlines already offers passengers free in-flight Internet based on Starlink technology on all Airbus A321neo and Airbus A330 aircraft.

How will Starlink internet work on planes?

To launch Starlink internet, airlines must install a satellite antenna on the fuselage of the plane, which will receive and transmit the signal to satellites.

Wi-Fi routers will be installed in the cabin of the airliner to distribute the signal to passengers' devices. To access the internet, you need to connect to the onboard Wi-Fi network and, if necessary, log in.

Доступ в інтернет на борту літака можливий з будь-якого пристрою, який підтримує Wi-Fi - мобільний телефон, планшет або ноутбук.
